The Essentials

Over the past few years, there’s been much debate about what’s essential and what’s non-essential. And while there may be lots of opinions about what’s considered essential, the Scriptures make it clear that the true essentials for our lives are the grace of God, the Spirit of God, the Word of God, the people of God, and the mission of God. We must make every effort to pursue and steward these essentials because they give us access to everything we need to be a healthy hope carrier. Take some time to reflect on these five essentials. Look up the listed verses and meditate on them. Process these questions with the Lord, and examine the essentials in your life. Without them, it’s impossible to go on the journey God is inviting you to take. Without them, you won’t shape your world; the world will shape you.
